Welp, I guess I finally have time to do this now. After being laid off for the second time in less than half a year, I’ve decided to make a website. Well to be fair, I’ve had this idea for a while now. But now I actually have some pure unadulterated free time to mess around with; this is what I will keep myself busy with. 

“Ok so that answers the question ‘why now?’, but why make a website at all? Why not get into crocheting or hardcore drugs?” You might ask. Well, I’ve come to realize my mind wanders. It talks and talks and there’s not always someone to listen. I’ve decided to make this website to serve as my personal dumping ground of brainstuff. Ideas I’ve had, projects that I may or may not have completed, and other miscellaneous things I’ve decided would be cool to immortalize onto the world wide web.

Back before major social media platforms took off, I think personal websites were a lot more popular. While snooping around one day, I came across the website georgetang.com (first created sometime in the early 2000s). It’s no longer up, but traces of it still exist on the Wayback Machine. It just belonged to some random guy (presumably named George) who wanted to make a website I guess. He posted random things, stories of his life, impromptu movie reviews. It was kinda cool. There was no promise or guarantee that anyone would find or read about his website, but there was always the possibility that some bored dude would one day stumble across it and get a glimpse into what is essentially a silly little digital time capsule. My hope is that one day will happen to this website.
